ABOUT US
At Bridge Church, we believe in connecting all people to the person, power, and purpose of Jesus. From vibrant worship to life-giving teaching and a strong sense of community, our heart is to create a place where everyone can encounter God and grow in faith. We especially love investing in the next generation—our kids team is passionate about creating a safe, fun environment where children can laugh, learn, and discover who Jesus is. Whether you’re single, married, new to church, or raising a family, you’ll find a place to belong here. We can’t wait to meet you!
OUR MISSION
To connect all people to the person, power + purpose of Jesus.
OUR VALUES
Know God | Find Freedom | Discover Purpose | Make a Difference
WHAT WE BELIEVE
There is only one God, who exists eternally as a Trinity of three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity is fully God, yet each is personally distinct from the other.
Jesus Christ (second person of the Trinity) was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and died on the cross, was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven. He baptizes the believer in the Holy Spirit and will return to Earth to conclude history and fulfill God’s plan.
The Holy Spirit (third person of the Trinity) comes to live within a person once they cross the line of faith. He gives us power to live as God wants us to live, and gives us spiritual gifts to serve the Church and change the world.
The Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is the Word of God, written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down exactly what God wanted to communicate to us.
Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ – not by being a good person or doing good deeds – that a person can be restored to a right relationship with God.
THE STORY OF BRIDGE
Humble Beginnings (1996–2000)
In 1996, while attending a church service, Pastors Archie and Tangie Callahan received a prophetic word that God was calling them to leave the church they were pastoring and build something new. After prayer and fasting, they felt God leading them to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
In January 1998, they moved to Virginia Beach and began meeting in a home on Bivens Street with 65 people. That same year, on Easter Sunday, Bridge Church held its first public service at Rosemont Elementary School with more than 130 in attendance.
Callahan Family
Growing and Establishing (2000–2012)
In 2000, Scott Mayo joined the team as Executive Pastor, helping strengthen structure and systems as the church continued to grow. Services were held in several schools and theaters across the city until the church purchased land in 2005, expanding it in 2009.
By 2012, Bridge Church moved into its Main Campus on Indian River Road in Virginia Beach — marking a major milestone and a new season of growth and community impact.
Expanding (2013–Present)
Under the continued leadership of Pastors Archie and Tangie Callahan, Bridge Church has grown into a thriving multi-site ministry with campuses in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake/Greenbrier, and North Carolina, along with a growing ONLINE CAMPUS.
Established in 2017, the Chesapeake/Greenbrier Campus continues the mission to connect all people to the person, power, and purpose of Jesus. In 2022, Bridge Church launched its North Carolina Campus, expanding the church’s reach into Currituck County, NC.
Today, Bridge Church remains committed to its mission of “connecting all people to the person, power + purpose of Jesus.” What began as a small home gathering has become a regional movement of faith, hope, and transformation — truly building bridges that change lives.
